Oscar Tunjo won both races of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge in Daytona for GEBHARDT Motorsport.
Season opener for GEBHARDT Motorsport at the Daytona International Speedway. The first two races of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge took place as part of the ROAR before the 24. GEBHARDT Motorsport fielded three Duqueine D08s, driven by Oscar Tunjo, Danny Soufi and Jérémy Siffert.

Tunjo started the raceweekend with a record lap in qualifying and continued his good form in the first race, taking the win ahead of Brady Golan. In the second race, Tunjo continued his performance in the rain and once again delivered a first place finish. ‘It was a great weekend,’ said Oscar Tunjo. ‘We had two pole positions, an LMP3 track record during qualifying and two wins.’

Soufi, the reigning Prototype Cup Germany champion, finished a strong third in the first race, while in the rainy Sunday race he managed eighth place in the LMP3 class. GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy driver Jérémy Siffert finished seventh in both races.
‘With two first places in a row and a third place for Danny Soufi in the first race, we believe it will be a good year,’ explains team owner Fritz Gebhardt. ‘Those who know us know that we never give up on improving, so we are already working hard to further improve for the upcoming races. Our goal is clear: we want to defend last year's titles!’

The IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge continues on the last weekend of February at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Once again, two 45-minute sprint races are on the programme, which will be held as part of the NASCAR Cup Series. This will be a special race weekend for Danny Soufi, as the fast LMP3 driver comes from the Texan metropolis.
