The Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship will compete in Germany for the first time at the Jim Clark Revival in Hockenheim.
The Scandinavian racing series for Ginetta G40 cars will hold its first race weekend at the German Grand Prix circuit, the Hockenheimring.
Interest among drivers is high, and even before the end of 2025, 22 cars had already been registered for the premiere weekend, which will take place as part of the Jim Clark Revival from 8 to 10 May.
The starting field consists of both young talents and older drivers, with the latter competing in a special AM category. However, the young participants dominate, for whom Ginetta is the perfect platform to later move up to higher classes such as GT3, GT4 or LMP3.
The compact GT sports car has a very stable and torsion-resistant chassis with a closed body made entirely of fibreglass. The engine comes from Ford and delivers 165 hp in the vehicle, which weighs only 850 kg. All cars are technically identical, with sealed engines and gearboxes, so that only the driver's skills make the difference. Pirelli is the tyre supplier and only 14 slick tyres are allowed per season.
The car is completely manufactured and delivered by Ginetta Cars Ltd in England. The corresponding model with lower performance – the G40 Junior – is a huge success in its home country and is by far the most popular junior class before drivers make the step up to Formula 4. World champion Lando Norris began his career in the Ginetta Junior, and the list of professional racing drivers who started their careers with Ginetta includes many well-known names.
Ginetta also has a long tradition in Scandinavia and is celebrating 20 years as a Nordic racing class this year. Since 2024, the German Gebhardt Intralogistics Group has been the main sponsor of the entire championship, which is held under the name Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship. Among other things, this collaboration has enabled TV streaming and a stronger presence on social media. In addition, the champion wins a test day in one of Gebhardt Motorsport's LMP3 cars – for the winner of the 2024 season, Alexzander Kristiansson, this even led to a full season for the team last year.
The Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship will hold two races at the Hockenheimring and is guaranteed to offer exciting and close racing.
