Jérémy Siffert will compete in all sprint weekends of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Championship with GEBHARDT Motorsport this year. In this interview, the Swiss driver talks about his motorsport connections to his grandfather, the season with GEBHARDT Motorsport, and the support he receives from the GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy.
Jérémy Siffert—grandson of Swiss motorsport legend Jo Siffert—will compete in this year's IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Championship with GEBHARDT Motorsport from Sinsheim. The original plan was for Siffert to focus on the Endurance Cup of the series and take part in the two-hour races after a guest start at the season opener in Daytona.
However, following a change of plans in Fritz Gebhardt's team, the Swiss driver will now compete in the sprint races of the IMSA championship, which will be held as part of the programme from the NASCAR Cup Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on some of the most spectacular race tracks in North America. Siffert's next race will therefore be at the end of February at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
At the season opener in Daytona in January, the 22-year-old from Fribourg finished both races in seventh place in the LMP3 class. He learned a lot for the upcoming season on the legendary race track in Florida.

Interview with Jérémy Siffert:
Your father was a racing driver and your grandfather is motorsport legend Jo Siffert – was your path into racing already mapped out? And how did you finally make the leap into the sport?
Yes, I was certainly influenced by what my family had already achieved in motorsport, and that naturally led me to follow the same path at a young age. Like many other drivers, my father and I started out in karting, which was a fantastic way to learn the basics of driving.
After driving several races for GEBHARDT Motorsport last year, you are now starting your first full season in an LMP3 car with the team – how does that feel?
It is a great honor for me to compete in LMP3 with GEBHARDT Motorsport in the 2026 season. The team has big ambitions, which I really appreciate, and I am very excited to represent them this year and do my best to support the team.
You are also part of the GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy. How does that help you in your development?
The GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy is a huge opportunity for me and will help me develop both on and off the track. I am surrounded by the right people within the team, and we are working together to help me improve and become a complete racing driver in every respect.
You will be participating in all IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge sprint weekends in the USA in the short term – how did that come about, given that a different program was originally planned?
We had originally planned to participate in the Endurance Cup, but due to a change in the program, I will ultimately be participating in the sprint races.
I'm also really looking forward to racing in the sprint format, as I believe it will teach me to be a little more aggressive in racing situations.
Your grandfather, Jo Siffert, won the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring in the USA – do you feel a special interest in you there, and does that make competing in races in the USA even more special for you?
Of course, these racetracks are special to me because my grandfather won there. I'm excited to race on the same tracks, but I'm still trying to focus mainly on getting to know the car and improving my performance.
In honor of Jo Siffert, your Duqueine D08 will also be racing in Gulf Racing colors—how do you like the design?
I think the design is great and it's a nice tribute to my grandfather, who spent a significant part of his career in these colors.
What are your future plans with GEBHARDT Motorsport?
In the future, I want to develop as much as possible with GEBHARDT Motorsport and go as far as possible with the team by helping them this season and with their future projects.
