Swedish junior driver Emma Wigroth will compete for GEBHARDT Motorsport in the Velom Watches Sportscar Supercup, which will be held at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic.
Reinforcement for GEBHARDT Motorsport. 21-year-old Swede Emma Wigroth will compete for GEBHARDT Motorsport in the Velom Watches Sportscar Supercup supported by Interwetten SCC, which will be held at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic (8th to 10th May). Wigroth will compete under the banner of the GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy.
Emma Wigroth was born into motorsport. Her father, Dick Jönsson Wigroth, founded WestCoast Racing, one of Sweden's most successful racing teams. Emma Wigroth started karting in 2013 and enjoyed success in regional and national series. In 2021, she entered formula racing and was immediately nominated for the FIA talent programme ‘Girls on Track – Rising Stars’. A year later, she became the first woman to win a race in Formula Nordic. In 2024, Wigroth switched to GT racing and competed in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia with a GT4 Cayman. In the past two years, she has finished third in the championship each.

“We are delighted to welcome Emma to our team and to the GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy”, says team boss Fritz Gebhardt. “She has already achieved great success in Swedish motorsport in Formula Nordic and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia. Now she will be joining us in LMP3 racing and we are already very excited to see how she will perform there.”
In December, Emma Wigroth and her father Dick Jönsson Wigroth visited the team in Sinsheim and took part in the Christmas party. It quickly became apparent that the young racing driver and the traditional racing team were a good fit. On 10 and 11 March, she will prepare for the Velom Watches Sportscar Supercup with a test in the Duqueine D08 at the Hockenheimring.
"I had the pleasure of visiting the team in December to explore the possibilities for the future. The dynamic within the team was great from the start, and I am honoured to be part of GEBHARDT Motorsport”, said Emma Wigroth, full of anticipation. “It's a dream come true to drive an LMP3 car. It's a new challenge for me, but I'm ready to give my best and develop as a driver together with the team. Our first race together will be at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic, and I can't wait to get behind the wheel. I see a bright future at GEBHARDT Motorsport, as the team is giving me the right tools to develop as a racing driver both on and off the track."
The Velom Watches Sportscar Supercup supported by Interwetten SCC will be an invitational race for 1st and 2nd generation LMP3 prototypes powered by spectacular Nissan V8 engines. Together with the SCC, the LMP3 prototypes will complete two half-hour races. In total, the drivers will have 160 minutes of driving time over the weekend. GEBHARDT Motorsport from Sinsheim will compete in the popular event with two Duqueine D08.
