GEBHARDT Motorsport secured a class victory and a podium finish on the fifth race weekend of the Prototype Cup Germany.
The fifth race weekend of the Prototype Cup Germany is now behind GEBHARDT Motorsport. The team from Sinsheim fielded three Duqueine D08 in the Eifel. Oscar Tunjo and Alexzander Kristiansson, as well as Michael Herich and Mikkel C Johansen, took to the track for the team. Jérémy Siffert and Jacob Erlbacher drove the third car, which was entered under the Badischer Motorsport Club.

Oscar Tunjo secured pole position for the first race. The Colombian had a minimal lead of two thousandths of a second! In the race, Tunjo, who is considered one of the fastest LMP3 drivers in the world, was in second place before handing over the car to Alexzander Kristiansson. The Swede finished the race in third place, securing his first podium finish. "It's a great feeling to be on the podium for the first time. I was a little nervous before I got in because I had never taken over a car in this position before. Then I stalled it, but once I knew my pace was right, I was happy," said Kristiansson.
Jérémy Siffert and Jacob Erlbacher finished the race in seventh place. Michael Herich took eighth place in the Trophy classification.
In the second race, Tunjo and Kristiansson missed third place by around half a second. The duo finished the race in fourth position after initially falling far behind due to a problem with the power steering. Michael Herich finished the race with his Danish partner Johansen in second place in the Trophy classification. Jérémy Siffert spun into the track barrier in the early stages and was forced to retire.

“We were very pleased to see how much Alexzander Kristiansson was able to learn from Oscar Tunjo this weekend. Thanks to his intensive collaboration with Oscar, Alexzander has made great strides, which was very important for him,” explained Fritz Gebhardt after the race weekend in the Eifel. “Michael secured another victory in the Trophy classification, but due to the points system in the class, it is not enough for him to become champion, so we congratulate Thomas Ambiel on winning the title. Congratulations also to Danny Soufi and Pavel Lefterov on winning the overall title ahead of schedule.”
The season finale of the Prototype Cup Germany will take place from September 12 to 14 at the picturesque Red Bull Ring in Styria. The LMP3 championship of the ADAC and the Dutch Creventic organization will be held at the Austrian GP circuit for the first time.
