Double-header for GEBHARDT Motorsport: This coming weekend, the team will be competing in the Velom Sportscar Supercup powered by Interwetten SCC at Hockenheim and the second race weekend of the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge in Austin.
GEBHARDT Motorsport is set to compete on two continents this coming weekend. The Sinsheim-based team will be taking part in the Velom Sportscar Supercup powered by Interwetten SCC at Hockenheim. The German team’s US division will also be in action, competing in the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
At its home race in Hockenheim, GEBHARDT Motorsport will field two Duqueine D08s, which will compete under the banner of the Swedish team WestCoast Racing. The Swedish junior driver and Gebhardt Young Driver Academy athlete Emma Wigroth will drive one of the P3 prototypes as a solo driver. In the sister car, Jérémy Siffert, the grandson of Jo Siffert, will line up alongside Michael Herich.

The two half-hour races of the Velom Sportscar Supercup powered by Interwetten SCC will take place as part of the ADAC Hockenheim Historic, which is regarded as one of the most important historic motorsport events in Germany. The two races start on Saturday at 4.25 pm and on Sunday at 3.40 pm – both races will be broadcast via the official livestream on YouTube.
At the same time, the Circuit of the Americas in Austin will host the second race of the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge, the endurance offshoot of the IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge. GEBHARDT Motorsport secured a dramatic victory in the first race at Sebring. The team will also field two Duqueine D08s on the Texan circuit. Valentino Catalano and Oscar Tunjo will drive the #1 car, whilst local hero Danny Soufi and Jake Williamson will compete in the sister car.
The two-hour race in Austin gets underway on Saturday at 6.05 pm. Fans worldwide can watch it on the IMSA YouTube channel. Although the IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge already visited Austin in February, the competitors will still have to adapt to new conditions. Whilst only the short circuit was used in February, the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge race will cover the full Grand Prix circuit. There is also a new rule change requiring two scheduled pit stops. The window for the stops begins after the first 15 minutes and ends 15 minutes before the chequered flag.

“This is going to be a very busy weekend for us! In the USA, we want to further extend our lead at the top of the standings with another strong result. We are very confident, as we know what our cars are capable of and we know we have strong drivers,” explains team boss Fritz Gebhardt. “It is also a matter of honour for us to compete at our home race in Hockenheim. With Emma and Jérémy, two members of the Gebhardt Young Driver Academy will be in action there, and Michael knows the car very well from previous years. Here too, we are hoping for good results in what is a strong field!”
