Emma Wigroth will drive a Duqueine D08 for GEBHARDT Motorsport in the remaining three rounds of the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge.
Girl power at GEBHARDT Motorsport. Swedish driver Emma Wigroth will line up in a Duqueine D08 for the remaining three rounds of the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge. The fast Swedish driver Wigroth is a member of the GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy’s development squad.
Wigroth had already taken the wheel of the Sinsheim-based team’s prototype at the Velom Sportscar Supercup powered by Interwetten SCC, which was held as part of the ADAC Hockenheim Historic. In the first race, Wigroth finished fifth and improved to fourth place in Sunday’s race. As a result, she currently sits fourth in the SCC championship standings.
Emma Wigroth was born into a world of motor racing. Her father, Dick Jönsson Wigroth, founded WestCoast Racing, one of Sweden’s most successful racing teams. In 2013, Emma Wigroth took up karting and enjoyed success in regional and national series. In 2021, she made the switch to formula racing and was immediately nominated for the FIA’s ‘Girls on Track – Rising Stars’ talent identification programme. A year later, she became the first woman to win a race in Formula Nordic. In 2024, Wigroth moved into GT racing and competed in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia in a GT4 Cayman. Over the past two years, she has finished third in the championship on both occasions.
The Interwetten Sports Car Challenge continues from 7–9 August at the Nürburgring as part of the Oldtimer GP. Races at the Red Bull Ring (29–30 August) in Austria and in Brno, Czech Republic (11–13 September) will round off the season in the sports car series.
Alongside Emma Wigroth, GEBHARDT Motorsport will field a second Duqueine D08 at the Nürburgring for a driver from the GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy. Jérémy Siffert from Switzerland – the grandson of the legendary Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert – will be at the wheel of the prototype.
