Emma Wigroth and Jérémy Siffert achieved strong results in the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge as part of the Oldtimer GP.
The second race weekend of the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge took place as part of the Oldtimer GP at the Nürburgring. 43,000 visitors created a lively atmosphere in the Eifel. GEBHARDT Motorsport fielded two Duqueine D08 prototypes, driven by the two Young Driver Academy drivers, Emma Wigroth and Jérémy Siffert.
In the first race, the fast Swedish driver Emma Wigroth secured a strong second place in the Pro1 class, in which the two Duqueine D08s from the Sinsheim-based team were competing. For Wigroth, this was her best result to date in a prototype from the long-established racing team. Jérémy Siffert had to pit for a tyre change early on and finished the race in sixth place in the class.
On Sunday, Jérémy Siffert secured a strong second place in the Pro1 class and was even classified fourth in the overall standings, leaving significantly more powerful cars – some from the LMP1 era – behind him. A strong performance for the Swiss driver. Emma Wigroth narrowly missed out on her second podium finish in fourth place, but was once again able to learn a lot.
“We are proud of the performances and results of our two GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy drivers, Emma and Jérémy, at the Nürburgring. Both achieved strong results in both races and put in good performances. Unfortunately, Jérémy had an extra pit stop in the first race, which prevented him from achieving a better result. We are very pleased with the progress both of them are making and are already looking forward to the upcoming races together,” said Fritz Gebhardt.
