Jérémy Siffert secured his first victory with GEBHARDT Motorsport at the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge at the Red Bull Ring.
The third race weekend of the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge took place at the Red Bull Ring. As part of the Red Bull Ring Classics, more than 20,000 enthusiastic visitors flocked to the Austrian Grand Prix circuit. GEBHARDT Motorsport fielded two Duqueine D08s, driven by the two GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy drivers, Emma Wigroth and Jérémy Siffert.
In the first race late on Saturday afternoon, Jérémy Siffert secured his first victory with GEBHARDT Motorsport. The grandson of the legendary Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert came out on top in the Pro/1 class with his Duqueine. In the overall SCC standings, Siffert finished in a strong third place. Swedish driver Emma Wigroth rounded off the team’s strong result with third place in the class.
In Sunday’s race, Siffert put in another strong performance, finishing second in the Pro/1 class. He narrowly missed out on class victory by less than three seconds. In the overall standings of this colourful sports car racing series, Siffert finished fourth. Emma Wigroth also secured another healthy haul of points, finishing fourth in the category.
“We are delighted with Jérémy’s first victory with GEBHARDT Motorsport! He put in strong performances at the Red Bull Ring and was rewarded with two excellent results. Emma also managed to secure another podium finish. Our two GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy drivers have improved significantly over the course of the season, which makes us very proud,” said Fritz Gebhardt.
The season finale of the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge will take place from 11 to 13 September in Brno, in the Czech Republic. The Automotodrom Brno is world-famous, particularly for its MotoGP races. The 5.403-kilometre circuit is characterised by fast and technical corners and changes in elevation.
