For the two GEBHARDT Young Driver Academy drivers, Emma Wigroth and Jérémy Siffert, the season finale of the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge in Brno, Czech Republic, is on the schedule.
GEBHARDT Motorsport is heading to the Czech Republic: the team from Sinsheim will be competing in the Interwetten Sports Car Challenge season finale at the Czech circuit in Brno. The team will be fielding two Duqueine D08 for Emma Wigroth and Jérémy Siffert.
Over the course of the season, Sweden’s Wigroth and Jérémy Siffert from Switzerland have made significant progress, underlined by a string of strong podium finishes. Most recently, at the Red Bull Ring, Siffert – the grandson of Swiss motorsport legend Jo Siffert – secured his first victory.
Emma Wigroth currently occupies a strong third place in the overall Interwetten Sports Car Challenge standings, which equates to second place in the Pro/1 class. Her team-mate Siffert follows just one place behind. They now aim to round off the season with two strong results.
The world-famous MotoGP circuit in Brno is characterised by its fast and technical combinations of corners, as well as its ascents and descents. For the drivers, the 5.403-kilometre-long Autodrom Brno is a real challenge.
“We want to end the season on a high in Brno! Emma and Jérémy have improved significantly over the course of the season and we now want to cap that off with two strong results. The circuit will be a challenge for both drivers, but its layout is more reminiscent of typical American circuits,” said Fritz Gebhardt.
The Interwetten Sports Car Challenge will stage two half-hour sprint races in Brno, which will be run alongside the Czech GT Cup, meaning a colourful mix of sports cars, prototypes and GT cars will be on the track. The two races will start on Saturday at 11:35 and on Sunday at 13:55. Both races can be watched via the GT Cup’s official livestream.
